3...2....1...SOLD

so i remember saying in the previous blogs that i would blog once i got my first album out and running..FINALLY it has come. so mid last week the shipment came to my house..i received 100 CDs in the mail and my volunteer manager has received 400. so my 100 cds is for like local family and friends or whoever wants to buy them from me here in the OC..or for promotion at like gigs and such..

the album is called Hope and Love. it's my first album out and it was quite an experience. Even though is album was suppose to be released LAST Summer. haha..yes long overdue album..my apologies, but a lot has happened...good and bad...but it's just something that's part of life.

The album consists of 12 tracks..both Originals and Cover Songs..mixture of christian, comtemporary pop, and country pop i should add...i believe we decided to make it like this to kind of get the fans interested in what kind of music i make and love covering. it was hard to just narrow it down to 12 tracks, but thats why there's a second album to make :)

So this is the final cover that was made. The picture was taken at Santa Monica Pier. Very simple since it's the first album and i just wanted to make it simple..the bottom image is the back cover of the CD where theres title track numbers and the title of the songs...

i never would have imagined myself making an album. of course i loved playing guitar and singing, but it was more of a hobby...i never thought that cover songs on youtube would go all over the world. haha..i first started making youtube videos one random day..i just said to myself..just try..and people started to request so many songs..too many..haha still got a long list going..when people say they are touched by my videos..it motivates me to keep doing what i'm doing..i know its cover songs..they arent my own..they are still touched..haha..God does many great things in our lives and this is one of my great things that he has done. i know its not a professional recording album but if i can touch people with my music..that's great.. that's what i want to do.

Tell Me Your Wish

wondering why the title is Tell me Your wish? no i am not a genie or any sort..but this blog will be what i said awhile back that i would blog about...KOREAN MUSIC...no worries it's nothin serious...no debates or anything..just my preferences i guess...

i never would have thought i would blog about korean music but i was thinking about what i should blog about...and since i just paused my youtube video on a korean radio show...and organizing my korean music on Itunes..why not blog about korean music..

my blogs are usually boring...i dont even know who reads them..but who cares..haha. if they're boring..then they're boring..i will not promise you that any of my future blogs will be exciting..HAHA

so korean music...i know we all have different preferences when it comes to korean music..some may listen to it some may not. 

PAST TIME!..so..when i was in Junior high--ish...i absolutely LOVED korean music..back then i was crazy about FIN.K.L (Fine Killing Liberty)...SES, H.O.T, g.o.d..Fly to the Sky..etc..but mostly Fin.K.L..where i'm from..it's like mostly Americans..white people there..and hispanics too..but mostly white people..so you wouldnt think that i would listen to korean music..this went on til i was a sophomore in high school..then all of a sudden..korean music wasnt in my playlist..it was more rock, r&b, pop..country...well country was always my thang..ya know..hahha.. but yea..idk what happened..when i was a crazy krn music listener..i remember like imagining myself..being a STAR..haha i would sing to it like crazy and tell myself i'm going to be a star...now when i think about it...yea i wouldnt have made it..HAHA yea yea no self confidence..

PRESENT: and now...it's back to korean music..i still listen to country and others..but idk how it happened..but korean music is back on my playlist and thats pretty much all thats playing...we have 소녀시대(Girl's Generation), 카라(KARA), T-ARA, Brown Eyed Girls, SG WannaBe, 2AM, 2PM and the list goes on and on...

Tell Me Your wish..one of 소녀시대(Girl's Generation) biggest Hits..so catchy..music video is awesome..it's one of those songs you don't get sick of..unless you hear it everywhere you go..but whenever i'm in my car..and it comes on..man its the jam..haha there's alot of other good songs i listen to..or its good to my ears..but maybe later

why do i listen to them? songs are catchy..music videos are good, just simply entertaining i guess. no no i will not turn all fobby on ya'll...that would be the last thing that will happen to me..ya never know..i might try to become a kpop star...HAHA kidding kidding..

i'm pretty sure some of you blog readers have listened to korean music..it's not just korean people listening..i was surprised that my viet friend knew 소녀시대(Girl's Generation) and love them..or like TaeYang's Wedding Dress song..so it's all over the place..

to add to this korean music blog..i will admit i was korean shows..NOT dramas..well i did..only IRIS...but i used to watch ALL KINDS of korean dramas..still my all time fav. is Glass Slipper..but we all know that these dramas always have the same "theme"...someone gets leukemia..and dies..or like cancer...someone takes their place..or evil sister..and an innocent one in the family..along those lines..

I've always wondered how different the american music industry and korean music industry is...i watch like korean award shows..and american award shows..so different..i guess the atmosphere is just different..i've always enjoyed music award shows than tv award shows..i guess because music is what i'm trying to do right now..we see young artists at the age of like 12 or 13 trying out to be a star and they train like crazy..well in korea they do that..america..you can become a big star even when you're in your twenties..like for examply Carrie Underwood..won season 4 american idol when she was 21...now she's one of the biggest country stars out there..here i've always thought..hmmm american idol...give it a shot? but when i don't and i watch the show..i'm like..yea good decision not trying out..cuz man its so competitive..i know i'm very competitive to the point where i'll piss you off..cuz you have pissed me off..haha..but at times i just think..what if i did? but then again..it'll be a waste right? haha

Korean music will forever be in my blood..i can't help it.

INSANITY WORKOUT DAY 1

don't worry i will not blog everyday of my workout..thats just too crazy..60 blogs..haha..but i will just blog about my first day of the INSANITY workout. so after the holidays i worked out with p90x on and off...then things just happened and just lost focus in working out..but i still tried to eat healthy...so when i heard about INSANITY of course i wanted to try it out..so i have all the videos and today was DAY 1 :)

DAY 1: Fit Test...25 min.

at first i was like fit test??? thats it? 25 minutes?? but i totally underestimated all that...i havent sweated that much since the first week of p90x..HAHA..even though today was just a 25 min workout with intense exercises..and it's just a fit test....man..i was huffin and puffin..that's when i knew i was so out of shape...so hopefully i will be motivated to do it for 60 days straight unless something very important comes up and i cannot workout..BUT NO EXCUSES!

THE FIT TEST..had exercises i've never done before which is why i find it fun. i find working out fun.. :) when i sweat and see that my shirt is wet..it makes me feel alot better..because then that tells me that i did work hard :)

p90x takes 90 days..INSANITY takes 60 days.. we shall see if this works..hahaha i plan on doing it more than once :)

Nutrition: a part of having a fit body is eating healthy..i try to eat healthy as much as i can..unless something or someone get in the way..but everyone gets a cheat day..or days..hahaha..sometimes i like to spoil myself with ice cream...or fatty snacks..but when i'm at home..i like to cook myself meals that i love..

today i made myself DDuk Gook (krn rice cake soup). i had this for brunch. i only put in green onions and Dduk and instead of red meat..i put in Oh Deng..(fish cake)..man...it's so good! HAHHA..

for dinner i made my awesome Kimchi JiiGae..again..and this time my mom tried it..and brother had it again for dinner...my brother already said it was delicious..now my mom's turn...she was AMAZED! haha she said i make it better than her..HAHAHHA..ya'll watch out..an awesome chef is here! haha

now i enjoy cooking at home..experimenting with whatever i have at home i guess..HAHAHA..

i never crave mexican food or american food..but i always crave different entrees of korean food..even though i eat korean food pretty much everyday..hahaha..

it's about 10PM now..and my body is already feeling sore..haha i actually love the feeling of being sore..weird?? hahah yea yea whatevers...

ALL IN ALL INSANITY IS GREAT!!! YA'LL SHOULD TRY IT! you'll feel great. even though i may not get the beach body or 6pack...as long as i'm healthy and fit..thats fine with me.

INSANITY

soooooo it's been awhile since i have blogged. i was gonna wait to post up a new blog after i get my first album out..BUT there always some complication that gets in the way of the process..but i got the news that it should either done by the end of this week or early next week..we'll see if that's true.

but music-wise..things are just going slow. having technical difficulties at home so i cant record..i might just record without the equipment..i have like writer's block or something...my mind is just crazy with so many things.

main fanyways...it's that time of year where we start just wearing shorts and a tank top..but idk what's going on right now in southern california..it's raining..then it's sunny..then it's gloomy..and starts storming..weird..BUT it's time for me to "try" and get back in shape...HAHA i say try because so many temptations get in the way...but i must try and resist and start eating right and working out..i have done p90x a couple of times..on and off...i will still do p90x once in awhile..but i have a new main focus now..INSANITY

INSANITY is a new workout..kind of like p90x..but now its 60 days..PUHAHAHA i will not be ripped in 60 days..i know for sure i won't..i would probably be fit if i had more motivation and a person to eat properly with...THEN i would probably have the body i want..but i will try my best to be fit...i cannot become a couch potato..i will not accept that. so we'll see how this all goes.

that's pretty much what's going on in the life of Juno..

everyone who knows me..or has been around me for awhile..will probably realize that i don't eat meat much..and no i am not a vegetarian...i just choose not to eat that much meat..i will eat meat but not often..if it's a big family gathering then i will not refuse..i don't eat much meat at home..alot of my friends eat meat..so when we all hang out..for example..KRN BBQ..how can you not eat meat there when all thats there is meat..haha..so i will eat meat..but not THAT much..so you may think i'm a vegetarian because i eat mostly veggies...fruits..and krn food that doesnt have meat in it..haha..surprisingly there's alot..so i'm trying to make new things..but i dont have the money to buy all the ingredients..so i just use whatever i have in the fridge...

oh and a confession...so i gave up soda November of 2008..but i broke that..a couple of weeks ago when i went out to eat with one of my friends and Fanta Strawberry was just calling out to me..idk why..so right now that's the only soda i will drink...which is rare..so i'm still on the No Soda Diet i guess..but if theres Fanta Strawberry..it has to be strawberry..OR Fruit Punch..but i've only seen that in Hawaii..if they dont have those two...i will not drink soda..i prefer tea, vitamin water or just water. :)

thats about it right now..i shall blog once i get my cd in my hands...

Valentine's Day

sooooo this is a day AFTER Valentine's day..i thought i'd blog about what i did..and you can tell me what you did :)

soo the weekend of Valentine's day was just a normal weekend for me..was glad i didnt work cuz the whole week i had to wake up at 5-530am..depending if i snooze..haha. then go to work by 6-630..you're thinking maybe thats typical for some people...but for the mall??? it's a lil weird..haha..but i guess retail stores all do that..

anyways..so once friday hit..i was happy..

friday- went out with some of my friends at work..we went to this 24 hr bowling place that has bowling/coffee/dining area/karaoke bar

so we play a good game of bowling..then we decided to go to a bar near but it was really small so we came back to this 24 hr bowling place..and stayed at the bar and sang karaoke..i have to say that american karaoke bars are better than korean karaoke bars..or it's just more fun..haha..only when with friends..haha

yea so had a great time there..came home and knocked out..ahaha

saturday..just a normal sunny day in california..went to a friends bday dinner in LA..but before that..i was waiting for package in the mail..but apparently it didnt come on time..it said by noon saturday..so i waited and waited..and nothing...so i was sad about that..

a few minutes later..i see this Hispanic guy walking up and down my driveway..i'm thinking he's lost..i see he has roses and a teddy bear in his hand..so i thought he was going from house to house tryin to sell those..so i see him come to my door..and i say"no thank you it's ok" but by the time i finished..he asked" is there a Susan Yu here?" i was like what the heck..so i said thats me..and gave me the roses..who were from my music "manager". so i was a bit surprised..thank you Bob for the roses and teddy bear..and yes they are still alive.

the bday dinner was good..my kind of style..Country Style..even though i dont eat meat much..i just had to a lil there..you cannot go to a country place and NOT eat meat..but back at home..i dont eat meat..much..

yea so saturday night came back home..was really tired for some reason..and knocked out at 1am..

sunday: another sunny day..Valentine's day..it was just another sunday for me..cuz ya'll know..for single people it's just another day..haha went to church. was good as always..went out with my guy friends Dennis, Jay and James..had some good dinner..everyone chills at my house..so everyone came over to my house..watched the Winter Olympics..got tired early again..this whole week was tiring...got a coldsore in my lower lip..it's not the greatest feeling when you're eating..it stings like crazy..but hopefully it goes away soon..

that was my VDAY weekend..how about ya'll out there??

if ya'll are wondering what is going on with my music..apparently it got delayed like crazy..more than half a year.but i got a few singles out on Amazon..so ya'll can check that out..its 89cents each..so not too expensive..haha..the ALBUM hopefully will be out soon..i'm not getting any updates so we'll see..i'll blog again when the cd comes out...

There's a first time for everything!

so it's been awhile since i've blogged..

my first album is being printed now so it should be shipped to me soon..finally..right? haha

so tonight i played at a charity event that my brother's friend has put together. i was asked randomly when i was visiting my friend at work with my brother in LA. so i was graciously invited to performed a short set at the Cancer Awareness Event.

driving to Hollywood is always a hassle even if there's no traffic up until you see your exit like a few miles away. this will be my second time playing outside of my own lil "recording" room..so i was looking forward to it

the short set that i had included one of my originals that i wrote, a christmas song, and cover songs.

the environment at first was weird because i thought..wow i just came back from church..and here i am at Madame Royale..which is a bar. haha so the setting was dark..we had a dj and drinks..i also found it weird that a charity event is at a bar..haha but then i got used to it as time went by. at first the schedule was for me to be first..but someone had to leave early so we switched..so i was 3rd..THEN..to set the mood right i ended up playing last to end the show.. which is a good thing i guess.. hahaa. i had a great time and i hope the people there had a great time. they seem to have enjoyed the songs that i have chosen to sing :) now thats a plus :)

but i felt like for me there was technical difficulties with my guitar..but its all good..i got through it and they enjoyed it.

the testimonies that the two ladies gave about how they survived cancer really scared me at first..cuz it can really happen to anyone even if it doesnt run in the family..its all out there..but then again it amazes me how God is so powerful and how he saved these two ladies...i was really touched. i always like to get involved with these kind of things..not because its for the better cause but because i know i will get something good out of this..don't be afraid to go out and help if you have the opportunity. this reminds me of a song:

"Change" by Carrie Underwood...go listen to it and read the lyrics if you want..it's good

well now i'm just chillin at home..back to reality :) i always enjoy playing but whenever i get nervous i become so tense so when i come home my body aches..i need a hot bath..HAHAHA..sike..i will just cuddle in my blankets and read.

I'm Not a Quitter

wow it's just been way too long since i last blogged. haha

i'm just sitting here in the living room watching friends and as i sit here..i thought.."why not blog?"

so you might wonder..or maybe not..what is going on in the life of Susan Yu.

mm nothing TOO exciting..haha. went to 2 colbie caillat concerts..met colbie caillat for the first time..it was awesome..second time i failed to take a picture with her..because when i was next to her and we were ready to take a picture..the girl who took my picture said my camera ran out of batteries..when i got to my car..turned it back on..it started to work again..failed..oh well next time..

things have just been like in my face these days..even though i'm taking a break from school and that work is just on and off depending on how my schedule is like..but the music stuff..is like in my face..at first it was on hold for the longest time because i didn't know what was going on..then finally some update..and now there's alot of things i have to do to make this right and to make this actually happen..this first "project" was suppose to me done and out at around late august..but now that it's november we know that it did not happen

as much as i think that my dreams just faded away because i lost patience..i am not a quitter.. i ask got for patience and just to believe.

other than music stuff..life has just been..one step at a time. or living one day at a time.

i've been doing writing here and there..topics go from like haters to lost friends to love to like everything.. haha whatever is on my mind..it just comes out..and also just the music that i listen to i guess influences me to write..because one day i want my music out there..BELIEVE

i am not a quitter..i am not a quitter.

i'll leave you with that.
